Special Handling  1st newborn screening test for normal infants is collected within 36 hours of age and 24 hours after first protein feeding or prior to discharge. Transfused infant collect 1st screen prior to transfusions. Premature infant collect 1st screen before 7 days. Second test is reqired 8 day to 2 weeks of age. Premature infants with abnormal results should be rescreened at 1 month of age or time of discharge. 2nd test should be done on any infant who has not been screened. Newborn screen slips must be received
Lab Notes  Screen for: Amino Acid, Fatty Acid, Organic Acid, Galatosemia, Biotnindase, Endocrine and Hemoglobinopathies disorders.
